Uprooted, by Naomi Novik, is a fantasy novel that tells the nearly fairy-tale-esque story of a girl who is chosen to be an apprentice of sorts to “The Dragon” a powerful wizard who lives to protect the local peoples, including the girl’s family.
The story includes magic and mythical beasts, and though the subject matter and basis for the story are intriguing, I’ve just found the execution to be a bit lacking.
Tezi is perhaps interested in continuing with the story (till the end) but we’ll see how and when that comes about, for the both of us.
