Upgrading… or devolving…

      3 Comments on Upgrading… or devolving…

Greetings, my friends and family,

Over the next wee bit (‘wee bit’ may be translated as designating a period of time shorter than my life time, but longer than seems appropriate) I will be updating/devolving jdstock.com with some new flashier looking stuff (or it’ll just be different than before)- new colors, new layouts, more HTML/CSS fun for me.  Best of all, and already accomplished is that my blog is now in a format that allows comments.  I’m excited about that.  Yes, you can now leave comments even on posts as controversial and insightful as this one.

The site will likely look uncomplete and sorta rag-tag for a wee-bit.  Bear with me.  And I’m now officially taking recommendations for jdstock.com  (what would you like to see?)

I chose this blogging format also as an experiment of ease.  Now that I’ll just have to type into WordPress, the entire process, I think, should prove to be a lot more time efficient.  Rather than having to fiddle with text and HTML as I was having to do before, I can essentially just type into WordPress and hit “publish.”  Be it folly or wisdom, I have less of an excuse now when it comes to the regularity of my blogs.  And I do hope to post more often now.

I’ll leave you with “Sinking” from The Cure.  Listen not only to Simon’s devastating bass, but also the morose versimilitude of Smith’s recognition of mortality.

The Lyrics:

I am slowing down
As the years go by
I am sinking
So I trick myself
Like everybody else

The secrets I hide
Twist me inside
They make me weaker

So I trick myself
Like everybody else
I crouch in fear and wait
I’ll never feel again

If only I could remember
Anything at all

I’m liking the changes, Jeremy. Although the gallery of photos in your main page was awesome, this photo rocks 🙂

It’s awesome that people can comment now.

    Jasmine and Holly,

thank you for taking a moment to write. Much appreciated, and at least now I know these comments actually work. And that’s a good thing.

There’s still a lot of work to do on this website, but I enjoy it in my spare time so, at least for now, I’m looking forward to the building process.
